Prayer Shawl Ministry

Grace Lutheran Church’s Prayer Shawl Ministry is intent on sharing peace, comfort, love, guidance through God’s Word and being a light to His path through the blessings of the talents He’s given us.

Our focus is not on the shawl, but on the prayer.

The shawl is a witness to God’s compassion for His people.

The shawl reminds the recipients that they are wrapped in the love of God and prayers of fellow believers.

Shawls serve as an opportunity to bring comfort to a hurting world.

Since 2008–present, 2,300+ handmade shawls, lap robes, baby blankets, quilts, afghans, scarves, etc. have been created and given away.

Recipients have included:

Alpha Center, Bayside Manor, Charis House, Children’s Home Society, Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, Families First Network, Grace & Mercy, Grace Lutheran Church’s Amazing Grace Preschool and our confirmands, Gulf Coast Kid’s House
